I recently came across a picture that caught my attention. It said:
“They know there are many flowers behind them, but they don’t want any flower other than the one they’re waiting for.”
That one simple sentence made me pause. It made me want to sit down and write this—for you, for myself, and for all my dear readers.
We’ve all been there. Staring at one flower.
One person.
One dream.
One version of love that doesn’t want us back.
Meanwhile, behind us—and all around us—so many flowers are growing.
Flowers waiting for our care, our touch, our attention, our love.
The ones that want us.
The ones that would bloom with just a little bit of our light.
But instead, we keep longing for the one flower that resists.
We water the wrong soil.
We pour our energy into something dry and unwilling.
Why do we do that?
Why do we block the beauty that’s trying to grow all around us?
Sometimes, we confuse a deep inner feeling with a specific person or situation.
We get attached to the idea—the dream of that flower.
Maybe it’s because it’s the first time in our lives we’ve felt this way.
And so we want to give all our care, love, and energy to that flower.
We think: This must be the one I’ve waited for so long.
But what if we’re wrong?
What if that flower doesn’t want to bloom with our light and care?
Then we have to accept it.
We have to stand again.
And we have to start giving our light to what does want to grow.
We must make the world around us a blooming, beautiful garden.
So today, I choose to let go of those feelings and situations.
I choose to redirect my water—my care, my love, my energy—toward what’s real.
Toward what already wants to grow—around me, and within me.
Let’s take the water we have and give it to those who need it.
Let’s give it to ourselves.
Let’s create beauty—true beauty.
Because we deserve it.
And because we have the power to create it.
So I ask you:
🌸 Are you still waiting for a flower that doesn’t want your care?
🌿 Are you ready to stop waiting—and start blooming?
